About

Barbara Schilcher, LL.M.

Lawyer, registered mediator, supervisor, coach and lecturer — with a path that runs through business, law and public administration.

My career has not been a straight line — and that is precisely my strength. I know the world of numbers as well as that of law, business and public administration. This variety of perspectives helps me understand conflicts from different angles.

01

From banking to a childhood dream

After commercial training at the Gmunden Business Academy, I first worked for years in the banking sector. I realised my childhood dream of studying law at the Johannes Kepler University Linz, specialising in “State, Society and Politics”.

02

Law & public administration

I gained court experience at the District Court of Gmunden and the Regional Court of Wels. From 2017 to March 2019 I served as head of administration for the municipality of Altmünster — a time that gave me leadership experience and deep insight into public administrative structures.

03

Mediation & teaching

In 2016 I completed my diploma as a mediator (registered with the Federal Ministry of Justice). Since 2009 I have lectured in adult education for the Province of Upper Austria, and since 2022 in care-home management training and care management at universities of applied sciences and various institutions. As an independent speaker I devote myself to a range of topics in the social sphere (adult protection law, advance healthcare directives and the like) and in conflict resolution.
